Well, the boom is well and truly here

Solar is absolutely crazy right now with batteries, new systems, you name it, it's happening! Our heads are spinning, but it's also a wonderful and exciting time!

Firstly, we must say how humbled and truly grateful we are for all our repeat customers. We actually get a little teary talking about this; you really mean the world to us. 2024 was a tough year for everyone in every industry, and the start to 2025 was also quite a struggle. So to be flat out and fully booked as we are is just so amazing. Hopefully whoever is reading this has a similar fate coming their way soon as well.

There is a catch, however. And a few things that we need everyone to know to help the process and navigate this difficult time.

Batteries are coming into stock, thank goodness, but we do have to juggle the installations of them. This is an issue for all solar companies and has even resulted in some pausing their sales on them. Why is this, you ask? It's a simple cash flow situation. Batteries are expensive up front, and the rebate is coming in very, very slowly. So slowly that most companies we speak to have maxed their credit accounts and simply cannot buy any more gear until the rebates come through. Imagine this scenario. You have a million dollars in credit, which quickly gets eaten up, and you have a slow turnaround from the government, usually around 8 weeks or so right now, getting paid. Yes, it is tough, and to be honest, the companies that are run by businessmen do have an advantage here. Let's just say there are a few nervous people out there financially even though on paper they are flat out and doing well!

Another thing we are seeing is some products are better than others. In particular, one brand that claimed to be the new big kid in town has a subpar product and extremely subpar service. Everyone said we should be selling it, it's the best, etc. But we held back. We've seen so much in our 15 years as a team that we knew it was best to sit and watch for a while. And we're so glad we did in hindsight...

We've been able to dodge some of the bullets that have been thrown around in recent months and have been able to balance our cash flow and, most importantly, keep our debt-free status! Remember, we don't have any credit accounts or debt, so we've had to be very wise in our decision-making. Thankfully this has worked out and left us in an amazing position as a business.

Unfortunately, stock and the issues around it are still here, and we do still have some challenges ahead. But please know, we will make sure that everyone gets looked after and is happy in the end. We won't always get everything right, but we will always make sure anything we need to fix gets fixed.
