The great exodus from solar has begun!

Well, we predicted it a few months ago. Many of the long-standing companies in our industry have fallen very recently. A combination of factors has led to this, and, to be fair, some are outside of a business owner's control. But either way, it's very sad, and it will leave many, many customers high and dry.

Recently, we have seen things like panel warranties destroy companies for ten years, particularly companies that did big volumes. This is exactly why we have the model that we have. You cannot do solar on a large scale and do it properly. There are just too many moving parts and far too many bad tradesmen and salespeople creating issues. You just can't make enough profit to cover these fix-ups for these issues.

Below is a statement about this from an industry body, the solar cutters. It's just a snippet of an article from industry guru and all-around legend Jack Long. Here, you can hear and see the sentiment many are facing out there. Unfortunately, the good times that allowed many of these companies to trade in the first place are long gone. And only those with superior business acumen and, unfortunately, luck will survive.

We created our model from experience, and specifically, for the tough times. It's interesting to see how many years on how right we were. Unfortunately, however, us being right is not a good thing for so many others.

Hopefully, things will get better for everyone in the next few years. It's been a tough run for so many recently.

Stay sunny, everyone.
