Seriously people, cheap advertising is just that. Advertising to get the phone ringing.
Please look at this below from a recent person who found out the hard way. This person went to court, thinking they had justice on their side, only to be torn apart from the judge as they had clearly signed up for a system that's price was going to change.
If you sign up to these deals they change the price. It's totally legal and you were warned.in the fine print. Even if they actually do come to site, which is usually how you can indetify if the company actually exists, this still happens.
The photo below explains why. The price is subject to the terms and conditions. You've literally signed a blank check.
You can buy solar at price, but not at the TV advertising rate. That's to get you on the hook. After you pay your deposit, or often at the actual time of installation, your true cost will come out.
You can also clearly see that pretty much everything in the contract can change at the company's whims. Basically, it's a contract that offers you nothing and them everything. It sucks, but that's the trade industry and business in general sometimes. It's one of the main reasons we started DMC, as we had seen too much of this.
Maybe another way we should word it is this. If someone told you they bought any product 50% cheaper than everyone else
and spent thousands online with someone they had never met, you'd think they were stupid, right? Well, unfortunately, the same thing applies to solar. You either pay for it properly upfront or get hidden charges. There is no magic deal. And the days of volume discounts are long gone in our industry.
Do it once, and do it right!
