Should I shed or should I ground mount?

This interesting conversation has been a common one recently, and most of the time we answer overwhelmingly, shed!

The reason for this is a shed with no walls can generally be built for half the cost of a ground mount system. This figure is exaggerated greatly if the soil test comes back with an adverse finding.

As a general rule, a shed for a 20kw system, admittedly with our contracts help, will come in at around $12k. A ground mount properly done will be around $2k per kw.

Yes, you can do some home made jobs, such as a photo from a previous post, but getting it wrong on the ground mount could be a costly problem. Please see the example below!
