In the last week, we've had 3 customers advise us that they tried to get cheaper prices they saw advertised online, only to be told "that gear is not available at the moment" or "your property doesn't qualify".
This is nothing new, and we've even worked for companies over the years that use this technique to get the phone ringing. Many of them still currently do, along with celebrity endorsements.
If you do see a price is below $4000 for a 6.6kw system, there is usually a catch. If you are seeing this price online or advertised with an asterisk as mentioned above, there definitely is!
To be fair, solar, and contracting work in general, is not a one size fits all affair. Unfortunately, every home is different, and we never know exactly what we are up against until we do an assessment.
So next time you see a cheap price advertised, don't be upset if it's not possible. It is only click bait advertising after all!
